Description
A Complete Set of Golden Dawn Portal Officers’ Lamens for the initiation ceremony.
A lamen is a symbol worn by an officer in a Golden Dawn temple. Lamens are important tools which help initiates focus on their assigned offices and the godforms they represent. The energy of a lamen is not unlike that of a talisman. It is built up by the group egregore and consecrated by initiates during numerous Order ceremonies and initiations. The lamens are worn suspended by collars which vary in color, according to the office.
The Portal ceremony contains a unique blend of First and Second Order Officers. This set of Portal Lamens is for the following officers: Chief Adept, Second Adept, Third Adept, Hiereus, and Hegemon.
Descriptions of the Lamens:
Chief Adept: The Gold Rose Cross Lamen is based on the Rosicrucian symbolism of the Red Rose and the Cross of Gold. (Our Portal version does not have eye-rings or writing on the back. It has Velcro on the back so that it can be suspended from a collar.) It should be suspended from a white collar.
Second Adept: This Lamen portrays a Fire Triangle within a Pentagram. Colors: red and green. It should be suspended from a green collar.
Third Adept: This Lamen contains a Stolisties-type Water Cup within an Octogram: Colors: blue and orange. It should be suspended from an orange collar.
Hiereus: This Lamen depicts a white Hexagram against the four colors of Malkuth. It should be suspended from a white collar.
Hegemon: This Lamen has a Hexagram formed from the red Fire Triangle and the Blue Water Triangle against a white background. It should be suspended from a violet collar.
All Portal Lamens are constructed from wood and decoupage. All Include velcro on the back for attaching to a collar.
