Description
The Lotus Wand is for general use in magical working. It is the single most important ritual tool that the Adept uses in the Golden Dawn tradition. (The wand is also carried by the Z. A. M. at all meetings of the Second Order at which the initiate has the right to be present.) The shaft of the Lotus Wand is divided into the rainbow (King Scale) colors representing the 12 zodiacal signs as well as the black and white for matter and spirit. It is crowned by the Lotus flower of Isis. On the Lotus flower the ten upper and inner petals refer to the purity of the ten Sephiroth. The middle eight refer to the counter-charged natural and spiritual forces of Air and Fire. The lowest and outer eight refer to the powers of Earth and Water. The center and amber portion refers to the spiritual Sun, while the outer calyx of four orange sepals shows the action of the Sun on the life of things by differentiation. As a general rule, the white end of the Lotus Wand is used to invoke and the black end to banish.
The Golden Dawn Shop offers the Lotus Wand in two lengths: 28″ for the magician’s personal use and 32″ for the Third Adept’s Wand in the Second Order.
